Human Factors Engineering

We as humans have come up from the "Stone Age", through the "Bronze Age" and the "Industrial Age" to where we stand presently: at the birth of the "Information Age". Technology is a fact of human existence; from the first all-purpose rock, to the computers that we now use with ease. The momentum of change has a tendency to crush the slow movers.

The goal of human factors engineering, (often referred to as "ergonomics"), is to "domesticate" our technology before it gets out of hand. It is the science of human limitation and optimization.
